Royal Connections
It is a privilege to be involved with the supply of materials to 2 of our Golf Course customers both of whom have ‘Royal’ connections.
Teeing off with Royal Mid Surrey Golf Club, a golf course steeped in history and set in an area of Royal parkland only 9 miles from the centre of London. Our Leighton Buzzard Sand Fensoil Rootzone to USGA specification was used in the construction of 9 new Greens on the recently re-named back 9 of the JH Taylor Course. Project-managed by Course Manager Gavin Kinsella, the work was completed in Spring 2010 and successfully opened to its members in July 2010. Gavin says “Banks Amenity supplied an excellent rootzone material that ticked all the boxes for a great green construction. We are delighted with the finished result.”
Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club is in the premier league of English golf courses. An 18 hole Links course, nestling on the beautiful Kent coastline and named in the top 100 Golf Courses in the UK. As well as supplying Fendress(TM) Top Dressing for Greens and Rootzone for Tee and Fairway maintenance we have recently been awarded the contract to supply Fine Screened Peat for the creation of a turf nursery. Ian Barnard, Course Manager said “this will provide an on-going supply of locally grown, indigenous turf for use on the Golf Course.” Royal Cinque Ports has recently been chosen as the venue of the 2013 Amateur Championships.
